THE PROCESS
DESIGN
Here at Make Harrogate we draw inspiration from anywhere and everywhere. During the design process a lot of thought is given to shape, colour, texture and pattern.

The design process is a very fluid one, some ideas are formulated in an instant, where as others can take may days/weeks. We also closely collaborate with our stocklists to create matching ranges exclusive to their products.
MAKE
Our clay is colour mixed and conditioned by hand. Conditioning the clay by hand softens it and makes it pliable enough to work with. On average this process takes around 30 minutes.

Our clay is then rolled out, cut and baked. Followed by buffing, buffing, buffing and a little bit of drilling.

Finally, before assembly, the clay pieces enjoy a bubble bath to get rid of any chips and dust.
Next we assemble the pieces, sometimes designs can evolve at this stage when we see the shapes and colours coming together.

PACKAGE AND SELL
Once we have created each piece, if it is a new range it will be photographed, then they are then placed on cards and packaged.
